Hot rods, custom cars, and classics will again be lined up and down Mission Street in South Pasadena on Sunday, September 16, for the 14th annual Cruz’n for Roses Classic Car Show.
The free event, between Meridian and Fair Oaks avenues, will support the costs associated with constructing and decorating the city’s float in the 2019 Rose Parade on New Year’s Day. Funds are raised through entry fees and sponsorships.
Independent judges will award trophies in 18 car categories. Vendors selling a variety of items from car supplies to hats, will be at the show. Food will also be on sale.
On the same day from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., the South Pasadena Police and Fire Departments will hold their annual open houses at 1422 Mission Street.
The event will include: Free giveaway items, mascot “Justice,” police canines, helicopters, tours of the police and fire department, disaster and safety information, Hot Rod and Classic Car Show, child souvenir photographs, police and fire department demonstrations, hands on emergency preparedness activities, child fingerprinting and photographs, Pink Patch Program information for breast cancer.
Participants will have an opportunity to win a police helicopter ride through a raffle.
