The annual “Crunch Time Party”, an event that raises funds for the South Pasadena Tournament of Roses, was held Friday at the historic War Memorial Building. One of the biggest yearly events in the city, the dinner and auction is attended by some of the top business and government figures in the city as well as longtime residents.
Attendees included the mayor and members of the city council and several prominent community leaders. They were treated to a catered dinner followed by a short program emceed by SPTOR president Ed Donnelly and concluded with an auction in which guests made bids on donated items and goods.
The committee who organized the event consisted of: Wende Lee (event chair) and members Jan Adams, Jeanie Joe, Laura Kieffer (auction chair), Therese Molina, Peter Owens, Ellen Torres, Sandy Fielding and Sheila Pautsch. The auctioneer was Kevin Bourland and DJ Valerie was spinning tunes.

Boy Scout troop 342 presented the colors at the opening ceremony.
