Her note continued: “My dream was to be able to create cakes that would bring happiness to any occasion. I had the pleasure of making wedding cakes, baby shower cakes, birthdays etc.”

Nakama closed by writing, “Sadly, I have even made cakes in the memory of the passing of some customers.”

Cake Sensations had four stars on Yelp before closing April 20.

“This was the best cake place! The cakes were DELICIOUS!!! The baker doesn’t use fondant and was able to design great looking cakes. Sadly, she retired and so now the place is closed don’t know who I will go to now. She made my wedding cake, a bunch of birthday and shower cakes, definitely my go-to cake place!” wrote Sydni E. of Los Angeles.

Added Erica R. of Los Angeles on Yelp: “I have been ordering with Cake Sensations for almost 8 years and they never disappoint. I’m so sad to hear that they are closing. I picked up my last cake and cupcake order yesterday and got to say thank you to the amazing owner. But again, THANK YOU!”

Regina O. of Pasadena gave the bakery five stars. “Cake Sensations is seriously one of the best, if not THE BEST bakery in the San Gabriel Valley.  Each time I order a cake from them for one of my events, I ALWAYS ALWAYS get rave reviews about the cake, not just for how beautiful they are, but for how amazing they taste.  They have several flavors to choose from and their design is always impeccable.  I was blown away how BEAUTIFUL my Kidchella cake turned out.  I have nothing but positive things to say about Cake Sensations.”

Laurel Liamas was able to get some bakery goods just in the nick of time, writing on Yelp: “This bakery is now closed forever as the owner retired, but I was fortunate enough to get a batch of cupcakes on their last day for my daughter’s birthday party.  Cake Sensations had been my “go-to” bakery for special occasion cakes for 10 years. BIG THANKS, Cindy, for helping my family make beautiful and delicious memories. Enjoy retirement!!”

  1. I as well as many other can say the same thing about cake sensations! Cindy and her staff are amazing, I’ve ordered several cakes from this bakery for several special occasions, but unfortunately she has now retired. The only problem is I now have lost contact and I had a pending order for June 22, 2019 for my wedding cake. I am concerned and worried, the last thing I want is something else to stress about. If any one knows how to reach her please let me know. I want to give the remaining balance or to at least get answers, the last thing I want is to be left with no cake for my wedding. Please Cindy if you can reach out to the customers who left pending orders and let us know how to go about with our pending payments it would be a huge relief!
