JT Burke‘s newest mural was just installed outside of Fabrik Projects in the La Cienega gallery district. Titled “In Paradisum Cantavit” (Latin for “The Paradise Crew”) the mural is 53 feet wide and features a panorama of cheeky characters that are the inhabitants of a visionary, Utopian world.
Based on a work he created last year for Art 1307’s “Ambiguous Reality” show in Naples, Italy, “In Paradisum Cantavit” is a highly detailed work on vinyl that is an ambitious continuation of his series that uses photos of costume jewelry and brass figurines to envision Paradise as a beautiful myth.
“In Paradisum Cantavit” will be officially unveiled this Saturday September 8, 2018 opening night of the Fall Art Season in LA. If you feel like mixing with the throngs of art lovers marching up and down the boulevard then come out to see it in person and say hi. The mural will remain on view through 2019.
Jt’s work is now being represented by Fabrik Projects gallery. He will be showing work with Fabrik at Photo Independent LA in October, and Photo Independent Paris in November, and look forward to continuing a great association with the Fabrik team.
