AYSO Region 214 Boys 11U Extra Team Wins National Games Tournament

On Sunday, July 30th, the Boys 11U Extra Team (2012) from South Pasadena / San Marino American Youth Soccer Organization (AYSO) Region 214 won the championship at the AYSO National Games Tournament.

The team persevered through 9 matches over 5 days to win it all in the Boys 11U Extra Division. The tournament was held from Wednesday, July 26 through Sunday, July 30 at the Great Park Sports Complex in Irvine, CA. Wednesday through Saturday consisted of pool play with the top 4 teams qualifying for the elimination rounds held on Sunday.

On Sunday, the Boys 11U Extra Team (2012) from South Pasadena / San Marino defeated Huntington Beach 5-1 in the semi-finals and then defeated Aliso Viejo 2-1 in the finals to win the championship. By defeating these two teams, South Pasadena avenged their only losses in the tournament.
