The AV community is coming together for AV Gives Back on Saturday, April 19, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., with a mission to restore the school garden severely damaged by the Eaton Fire. Families, students, and volunteers are invited to help replant the space, enjoy hands-on learning activities, and grow something beautiful together.

A Day of Planting, Painting, and Learning

AV Gives Back isn’t just about planting—it’s about creating an engaging educational experience. Interactive stations will teach kids about vegetables, herbs, native plants, pollinators, and more.

Here’s what’s in store for the day:

  • Vegetable & Herb Planting: Pumpkins, corn, tomatoes, bell peppers, eggplant, spinach, and more

  • Native Plant Area: Drought-tolerant species like California poppies, succulents, and safe native flowers

  • Education Stations: Learn about butterflies, hummingbirds, and local ecosystems

  • Painted Rock Art: Kids can design rock markers for the garden or take them home as keepsakes

How You Can Help

To bring this project to life, AV PTA has created an Amazon registry filled with kid-friendly gardening tools, seeds, paint supplies, and other planting essentials.

Every donation—big or small—helps create an enriching, hands-on experience for AV students.

Want to volunteer instead? No gardening experience is needed! Helpers are welcome at the activity stations and in the garden.
