The annual Arts Datathon: Intelligence is set to take place on Tuesday, April 29, 2025, from 9 AM to 4 PM PDT at Inner-City Arts, 720 Kohler St., Los Angeles, CA. This one-day event invites artists, educators, and arts administrators to explore the intersection of art, artificial intelligence (AI), and data ethics through interactive workshops and discussions.
What to Expect
Attendees will participate in hands-on workshops designed to help the arts and culture community use AI tools effectively and ethically. Topics include:
- AI from the Inside Out – Learn how AI can support arts organizations with administrative and business tasks.
- Hacking the Prompt – Experiment with generative AI for creative and professional use.
- What is Creativity in the Age of AI? – Explore human vs. machine creativity using AI tools and hands-on materials.
- Handling Data with Care – Understand how to manage and protect personally identifiable information (PII).
- Crafting Critical AI Policies – Develop AI policies tailored for arts and culture organizations.
- Intro to Data Justice – Examine AI’s impact on creative labor, ecological justice, and algorithmic bias.
In addition, Self-Help Graphics will be on-site printing tote bags designed by artist Oscar Rodriguez.
How to Register
Registration is $20, which includes access to two breakout sessions, coffee, and lunch. Scholarships are available upon request. Space is limited, so early registration is encouraged. Participants will be assigned workshops based on their preferences and availability.
