On October 10, 2026, the South Pasadena High School Math Club competed at Math Day at the Beach at California State University, Long Beach. Let’s give a big shout-out to Brett Chang, James Ouyang, Theo Tung, Wenny Wei, Cassie Yao, and Jerry Zhang, who earned fourth place out of 31 schools in Division B for new teams.
Throughout the year, the math club participates in several competitions, including the Bay Math League, AMC/AIME/USAMO (Math Olympiad), and Purple Comet. Each competition uses a different format; some are individual matches, and some are team-based.
