What started as a life-changing trip to Mexico in 2024 has turned into an ambitious new project for the South Pasadena High School Interact Club: raising $15,000 to build a home for a family in need.
In May 2024, the students participated in Rotary District 5300’s Mexico Super Build, working alongside volunteers to construct a house. Most of those students have since graduated, but a few, now seniors, are determined to give the next generation of Interactors the same experience.
Under student President Kailey Kurera, with the support of the Rotary Club of South Pasadena, the students are organizing their own house build for April 10, 2027, in partnership with Corazón, a nonprofit dedicated to strengthening communities in Mexico.
To help make it happen, the Rotary Club of South Pasadena invites the community to Tacos & Tequila!
