South Pasadena Prayer Breakfast invites the community for free coffee and pastries at its 11th annual event on Thursday, May 7, at Oneonta Congregational Church.
Lisa J. Cavelier, Chief Executive Officer at Boys & Girls Club of Pasadena and South Pasadena resident, will speak on “The Power of Showing Up” in an address not only about the beneficial impact of active generosity in the community but also about the importance of connection through prayer.
South Pasadena High School’s choir will perform two numbers during the program, which starts at 8:00 AM and brings residents together with leaders in the civic, church, business, and school communities.
Sponsored by private donations from businesses, churches, and residents, the breakfast has awarded more than $40,000 in grants over the past decade to nonprofits that support prayer and service, including charities for children and schools, emotional and social services, first responders and their families, and the unhoused, vulnerable, and others needing rehabilitation and shelter.
