Los Angeles Ballet’s The Nutcracker at Royce Hall & Dolby Theatre

The holiday season in Los Angeles kicks off with one of the city’s most beloved traditions: Los Angeles Ballet’s The Nutcracker. This weekend, audiences can experience the magic at Royce Hall at UCLA, with four performances beginning Friday, December 12.

A Unique Southland Twist on a Classic

Choreographed by Christensen/Neary and set to Tchaikovsky’s iconic score, The Nutcracker follows young Clara and her Nutcracker as they face the formidable Mouse King and journey through the Land of Snow and the Palace of the Dolls. This production adds a distinctly Southern California flair—from Spanish-style Hancock Park homes to the snowy slopes of Big Bear, Venice Beach arches, and the moonlit Pacific Ocean—bringing a sunny twist to this classic holiday story.

Hollywood Shows at Dolby Theatre
For those unable to attend at UCLA, the ballet moves to Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, beginning Friday, December 19, with additional performances through Sunday, December 28, including a sensory-friendly performance on Friday, December 26 at 2:00 p.m. Tchaikovsky’s breathtaking score is performed live by the Los Angeles Ballet Orchestra, making the experience unforgettable for families and fans alike.
