Out with the old! South Pasadena residents can now enjoy a new and improved bulky item collection program — now with 4 free curbside pick-ups per year, thanks to the City’s partnership with Athens Services.
Here’s how it works:
Who’s eligible?
- Single-family homes: 1 pick-up per quarter (up to 5 items each pick-up)
- Multifamily units: 1 pick-up per quarter (up to 5 items per pick-up) — pick-up must be scheduled through the property owner or HOA
What can you toss?
- Furniture, mattresses, rugs
- Appliances & electronics
- Yard trimmings & bundled wood (1 cubic yard max)
- Clothing

- Request pickup at least 24 hours in advance
- Place items at your curb by 6 a.m. on pickup day
