On October 2, 2025, South Pasadena Middle School (SPMS) hosted an English Language Development (ELD) Night for more than 100 parents and family members of English learners. During the event, everyone enjoyed dinner and a presentation from SPMS ELD teachers, Ms. Kammer and Mrs. Ryu, highlighting the ELD program and the roadmap to reclassification. Students were recognized for reclassifying, which means they have acquired English language proficiency, and their designation has changed from English learner to fluent English proficient.
It is a pleasure to celebrate all the SPMS students who have recently achieved English language proficiency, including: Jiyoo Choi, Allyson Chung, Nicolas Condori Cordoba, Zijun Rex Cui, Matias Garcia, Angie Ho, Wanqi Gianna Huo, Eason Jin, Amara Lee, Yudam Daniel Lee, Eunwoo Park, Anastasiia Reutova, Fernando Rodriguez, Tony Tao, Luxi Yao, Jiwon Yoon, and Isaac Yu.
