WHAT: Marengo and Arroyo Vista Elementary Schools in South Pasadena will be joining schools from across the country to celebrate National Walk and Roll to School Day.

WHEN: Riders gather at 7:50 a.m., Bike Bus leaves at 7:55 a.m., Arrive at school at 8:05 a.m.
Significance of the Event
On Tuesday, October 7, the South Pasadena Police Department will join students and their parents on the AV and Marengo Bike Buses in celebration of Bike to School Day. Officers will be riding police e-bikes and handing out prizes to participants. Each bike bus will also get a special escort from a police cruiser.
- Marengo North: Meets at 7:50 a.m. at Hope/Stratford next to Garfield Park, accompanied by Councilmember Michael Cacciotti.
- Arroyo Vista: Meets at 7:50 a.m. on Oxley in front of the South Pasadena Library.
Students from over 2,000 schools across the United States will celebrate National Walk and Roll to School Day on Wednesday, October 8. South Pasadena schools will celebrate one day earlier to coincide with their weekly Bike Bus.
Bike to School events highlight the importance of creating safer routes for bicycling and walking, while also emphasizing physical activity for children, cyclist and pedestrian safety, reducing traffic congestion, caring for the environment, and building stronger community connections.
The event is organized by South Pas Active, Marengo PTA, and Arroyo Vista PTA.
