This fall, the Unusual Suspects Theatre Company and Boston Court Pasadena are launching an exciting new opportunity for high school students across the Greater Pasadena Area: the Unusual Suspects Youth Theatre Conservatory, a free, immersive performing arts program designed to empower young creatives with professional theater training.
Running from September to December 2025, the conservatory is open to incoming 9th and 10th graders, with just 20 students accepted into the inaugural cohort. The program offers intensive workshops in acting, playwriting, directing, and design, all led by experienced professionals from the Los Angeles theater community.
A Rare, Cost-Free Opportunity for Young Artists
Thanks to generous support from partners and funders, the Unusual Suspects Conservatory is completely free to attend, eliminating cost barriers for passionate students interested in the performing arts. The curriculum is designed to cultivate original storytelling and build confidence, collaboration, and creative voice.
Participants will have the chance to develop and perform original plays, working closely with mentors who provide hands-on guidance every step of the way—from concept to stage.
