SOUTH PASADENA, CA – June 2, 2025 | A 31-year-old South Pasadena woman was arrested Monday night after allegedly leading police on a brief pursuit in a stolen vehicle, Pasadena Police confirmed.
The incident began at approximately 9:17 p.m. when officers monitoring radio reports of a stolen vehicle spotted the car near Marengo Avenue and Orange Grove Boulevard. Officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop, but the suspect, later identified as Alexis Frias, fled the scene.
Pursuit Ends in Minor Collision
The chase lasted only 30 to 40 seconds before the vehicle collided with a curb and came to a stop, according to Pasadena Police Lieutenant Monica Cuellar. Frias, the sole occupant of the vehicle, complained of pain and was transported to a nearby hospital for evaluation. She was later released and booked on suspicion of vehicle theft and evading police.
Stolen from Pasadena, No Further Threats Found
Cuellar confirmed that the vehicle had been reported stolen out of Pasadena. No weapons or illegal substances were discovered in the car, and Frias did not offer an explanation for allegedly taking the vehicle.
