To honor 250 years of service, the U.S. Postal Service has announced the release of two special stamp issues. Marking a milestone in American history, the releases celebrate the legacy, artistry, and cultural significance of U.S. postage stamps. Both collections will be available starting in July 2025.
A Collector’s Gem: Putting a Stamp on the American Experience
One of the highlights is a 32-page prestige booklet titled Putting a Stamp on the American Experience, only the fourth ever produced by USPS. This commemorative edition explores the breadth and influence of the U.S. stamp program through popular series and themes that reflect the nation’s identity.
Included exclusively with this booklet are two self-adhesive sheets of a newly designed Benjamin Franklin stamp. The design draws inspiration from an 1875 reproduction of the classic 1847 5-cent stamp—one of the very first issued by the United States.

Playful Tribute: 250 Years of Delivering by Chris Ware
The second release, 250 Years of Delivering, features a pane of 20 illustrated stamps by award-winning cartoonist Chris Ware. The pane follows a mail carrier through the four seasons, engaging viewers with whimsical details of postal life—familiar icons, packages, and tools of the trade woven into everyday scenes.

Its 250th Anniversary
These visually rich stamps aim to celebrate not just the historical legacy but the ongoing story of mail delivery in America.
