The brunch will feature a special performance by Mimi Bernstein, a junior at San Marino High School and chorister at the Grammy Award-winning Los Angeles Children’s Chorus. Mimi, accompanied by her vocal coach Wendy Pylko, will perform selections from The Great American Songbook.
Wendy Pylko, a renowned vocal artist and former professor at Cal Poly Pomona, brings her extensive musical expertise to the event.
Scout Presentation and Honorees
Tyler S. Young, an Eagle Scout from Troop 359 San Marino, will deliver the Scout message. For his Eagle Project, Tyler supported City of Hope Hospital by assembling over 700 patient resource kits, distributing 500 QR codes for digital outreach, and raising $3,600 for the AYA Community.
The Silver Jubilee will also honor founding members, including Mona Mapel, Jeanine Cushman, Judy Davis, Sallie Determan, Joan Dietrick, Gwen Krogen, Sue Newton, Janet Orswell, and Valerie Gumbiner Weiss. Founders Tinker Bayle and Jean Simpson will be recognized in memoriam.
Keynote Speaker: Andrew D. Bernstein
The celebration will be capped by a motivational address from Andrew D. Bernstein, renowned sports photographer and longtime NBA official photographer. Bernstein’s career spans over three decades with the Los Angeles Lakers, Clippers, and Kings, and he has been pivotal in capturing the history of the USA Olympic Basketball Teams since the 1992 “Dream Team.”
His photography has been featured in advertising campaigns for icons like Shaquille O’Neal, Kobe Bryant, Mia Hamm, and LeBron James. Bernstein’s work is on permanent display at the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame, and he was inducted into the National Jewish Sports Hall of Fame in 2013.
