Thousands of visitors are expected to join the 35th annual Museums of the Arroyo (MOTA) Day on Sunday, May 4, 2025, from noon to 4 p.m., where six local museums open their doors for free to celebrate the rich cultural heritage of the Arroyo Seco region.
Discover Six Historic Museums in One Day
Participating institutions include:
- The Gamble House
- Heritage Square Museum
- Los Angeles Police Museum
- Lummis Home and Garden
- Pasadena Museum of History
- South Pasadena Historical Museum
Guests can explore renowned architecture, compelling exhibitions, and family-friendly activities at no cost. Free shuttles will connect all six museum locations, allowing easy access for all visitors.
Planning Your MOTA Day Experience
Due to the wide range of exhibits and events, organizers recommend guests plan to visit no more than three museums during the four-hour window to get the most out of their experience. Each museum will offer unique displays and entertainment celebrating Southern California’s cultural and historical richness.
Visitors are encouraged to check the official website, www.MuseumsOfTheArroyo.com, for shuttle routes, parking information, and up-to-date details on each location’s special programming.
A Beloved Community Tradition
Now in its 35th year, MOTA Day has grown into a beloved community tradition that showcases art, architecture, and heritage. The event draws attendees from across Los Angeles and beyond, offering a meaningful and educational way to spend the afternoon.
