With the stands filled with track fans from all over California, top high school track athletes from over 220 schools worldwide did not disappoint them.

Numerous meet records were set during a variety of track events at the annual Tiger Invite held at South Pasadena’s sports campus. The meet kicked off at 11 AM and did not finish until late in the evening hours.

For lovers of the sport an array of momentos were available, with custom t-shirts commemorating the meet that were custom printed on the spot.

The stands and adjacent sports complex were adorned with numerous canopies with names of schools most have never heard of as well as noted local schools. South Pas was represented by several entrants.
Virtually everyone went away with a medal as the first 6 in each event (instead of the usual top 3) were awarded the large Olympic-style medals by meet director and TI brainchild, CB Richards, the SPHS Athletic Director, who has become well known as a top prep track meet promoter.
