A routine traffic stop in South Pasadena resulted in the arrest of a convicted felon found in possession of a loaded firearm.
At approximately 9:29 p.m. on Monday, March 31, 2025, a South Pasadena police officer stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation in the 2000 block of Fremont Avenue. A records check revealed that the driver, 33-year-old Fabian Lizarraga of Los Angeles, was on probation for assault.
Discovery of Loaded Firearm
During the stop, further investigation led officers to discover a loaded firearm inside the vehicle. Due to Lizarraga’s prior felony conviction, he is legally prohibited from possessing firearms. Officers took Lizarraga into custody and transported him to Pasadena City Jail.
Charges Filed
Lizarraga now faces multiple charges, including:
- Felon in possession of a firearm
- Possession of a loaded firearm
