Pasadena Showcase House for the Arts has awarded $1 million in gifts and grants to 90 nonprofit organizations and schools across the San Gabriel Valley and greater Los Angeles area. These funds will support music education, arts enrichment, youth orchestras, and music therapy programs, as well as sponsor concerts by the LA Phil and other cultural institutions.

This marks the second consecutive year that Pasadena Showcase has distributed $1 million in grants, the largest amount in its 77-year history. To date, the organization has contributed more than $27 million to community arts programs.

Impact on Local Communities

“Every year, our Gifts & Grants program touches thousands of lives in Pasadena and Los Angeles County,” said Lisa Loeffler, 2024/25 Gifts & Grants Chair. “Our funding supports programs for underserved communities, special needs individuals, summer performances, and educational workshops, ensuring access to enriching musical experiences.”

This year, Altadena-based organizations received additional support, particularly those affected by the Eaton Fire.

“In response to the January wildfires, we fully funded all grant requests from schools and organizations impacted by the Eaton Fire,” said Matt McIntyre, 2024/25 President. “Our goal is to ensure their vital work in music and arts education continues.”

60th Pasadena Showcase House of Design

The annual Pasadena Showcase House of Design, the organization’s primary fundraising event, celebrates its 60th anniversary at the Bauer Estate & Gardens, a 1928 Monterey Colonial estate designed by Reginald D. Johnson. The event will be open to the public April 20 – May 18, Tuesdays through Sundays.
