Authorities have arrested David Silva-Garcia, 22, of Los Angeles, in connection with a fatal crash in August 2023. The arrest, carried out on Monday, February 24, 2025, is the result of an 18-month multi-agency investigation led by the South Pasadena Police Department and the Los Angeles Interagency Metropolitan Police Apprehension Crime Task Force (LA IMPACT).

Suspect Apprehended in Northridge
Silva-Garcia was taken into custody in the 9200 block of Reseda Boulevard in Northridge after authorities issued a warrant for his arrest. The charges stem from a fatal traffic collision on Orange Grove Avenue in South Pasadena, which led to an extensive investigation.
Charges Filed Against Silva-Garcia
Following a thorough case review, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office filed three felony charges against Silva-Garcia:
- PC 187(a) – Murder
- VC 23153(a) – Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol Causing Bodily Injury
- VC 23153(b) – Driving with a Blood Alcohol Content of .08% or Higher Causing Injury
Silva-Garcia is currently held at the Pasadena City Jail on a $2,000,000 bail and is scheduled for arraignment at the Pasadena Superior Court on February 25, 2025.
