The SPHS Varsity Virtual Enterprise Finance team has secured a spot in the National Competition in New York City after an impressive second-place finish at the state-level finance competition. The event will take place on April 7-8, 2025, where the team will compete among the top 30 high school finance teams in the nation.
A Strong Performance at the State Level

Representing South Pasadena High School, team members Isabelle Mullican, Talia Rodak, Audrey Zheng, and Lindsay Zhu showcased their financial acumen to earn their place in the national contest. During the state competition, the students developed and presented current and projected financial statements, providing judges and potential investors with an accurate forecast of sales and profit.
Rigorous Competition Process
To reach the finals, the Finance team first submitted a detailed written financial report. In the recent in-person competition, they delivered a five-minute presentation, followed by a Q&A session with judges who assessed their financial projections and strategic planning.
Looking Ahead to Nationals
With their success at the state level, the SPHS team now prepares for their biggest challenge yet: the national stage in New York City. Competing against top high school business teams from across the country, they will have the opportunity to demonstrate their skills in financial planning, analysis, and business strategy.
