This Wednesday, September 18, at 7pm, join guest host Claire Holey at The Daily as she welcomes Holly Bernt and Bernie Larsen.
“We’re settling into The Daily nicely,” says Wine & Song founder, Brad Colerick. “The facade construction is nearing completion! If you haven’t yet been to a show there, I think you’ll be pleased. It’s in the new Trader Joe’s complex at 1119 Fair Oaks Ave. Plenty of parking. They have great food and drink options.” Doors open at 6:00. Show starts at 7:00. Colerick adds, “I’m out of town for the next couple of weeks but you’ll be in good hands.”
Holly Bernt is filling in this week for Gráinne Hunt who was scheduled but had to cancel due to some needed vocal recuperation. Everyone at Wine & Song is wishing her the very best. Holly grew up listening to gospel music and hymns in the Black Hills of South Dakota. Her formative musical years were spent in Detroit and she now lives here in the L.A. area. She is a compelling songwriter and singer that South Pasadena music fans are thrilled to have back at Wine & Song.
Singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Bernie Larsen has lived a charmed musical life. He has recorded, toured, and produced an elite handful of artists including Melissa Etheridge, Jackson Browne, Rickie Lee Jones, Lucinda Williams, and Public Enemy. He also spent six years as an original member of David Lindley’s legendary band El Rayo-X. In addition to performing, he also curates fabulous live music at the legendary Ojai Underground Exchange.
Also contributing some magic to the night will be guest host Claire Holley of Powdercoat.
