Seemingly never getting old, for graduates of South Pasadena High this day is like clockwork, always taking place in early June each year.
Hundreds once again gathered in the city’s Garfield Park last Saturday as all classes were invited to SPHS’s Alumni Association Annual Picnic.

For those in attendance, it was all about meeting old friends and catching up with the past. The reunion gave participants a chance to spend some quality time together and recall those adolescence years, growing up together, and being part of the same family – the high school family at South Pasadena High, at least for a day.

While some SPHS grads have never left the city, others made long distance travel plans from out of state to see friends and acquaintances at Saturday’s event. It was a chance for many to cherish high school memories, reconnect with old pals and rekindle relationships of another era.

There were plenty of pictures taken, stories told and handshakes and hugs as those on hand recalled the good old days of being a Tiger – the school’s mascot – while seeing friends, meeting other alumni and enjoying lunch.
