In response to ongoing global events and the conflict in the Middle East, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department (LASD) has moved to an elevated level of readiness to protect residents.

Enhanced Security Measures

The Department is maintaining increased vigilance and working closely with federal and local law enforcement partners to monitor potential impacts within our local communities.

As part of these preparedness efforts, the LASD is monitoring for various threats, including lone-actor incidents and cyber-related concerns. Public safety remains the top priority for all local stations.

Increased Local Patrols

Out of an abundance of caution, residents will notice a higher law enforcement presence near specific locations:

  • Places of worship and religious centers
  • Cultural institutions and community hubs
  • Prominent public landmarks and gathering spots

“Our residents are the eyes and ears of our communities,” the Department stated, emphasizing that community awareness is a vital part of their intelligence gathering.

Community Coordination

The LASD has activated cultural liaisons to work directly with community members to address safety concerns and foster engagement during current religious observances.

Additional resources have been made available to patrol stations to ensure a rapid response if needed. Residents are encouraged to remain aware of their surroundings both in person and in digital spaces.

How to Report Suspicious Activity

If you see something, say something. Report suspicious activity to your local station or provide anonymous tips by calling “Crime Stoppers” at (800) 222-TIPS (8477). You may also use the “P3 Tips” Mobile App or visit lacrimestoppers.org.

For immediate emergencies, always dial 911.
