Guests are invited to take a step back in time as the 2026 Empty House Party returns on Friday, January 23, 2026, celebrating the launch of Baldwin Oaks, the 61st Pasadena Showcase House of Design. This year’s event pays tribute to Clara Baldwin Stocker, daughter of famed California pioneer Elias “Lucky” Baldwin and a beloved San Gabriel Valley socialite known for hosting glamorous soirées at the family estate.
Before designers begin their transformation, guests will be among the first to walk through the historic Baldwin Oaks Estate—once the lively backdrop to Clara’s legendary gatherings and high-society celebrations.

Attendees can expect an evening filled with abundant bites from Fish King, Porto’s Bakery, and more, along with signature cocktails inspired by Clara and Lucky Baldwin, curated wines from Riboli Family Wines, and live jazz entertainment by the Tyler Cash Trio.
This kickoff event continues the tradition of celebrating Pasadena’s architectural heritage while offering a rare look at the estate before the Showcase House’s months-long design overhaul.
Iceland Luxury Vacation Raffle
Adding to the excitement, this year’s Empty House Party features a raffle for “The Pine Retreat: A Luxury Icelandic Adventure”—a 6-day, 5-night stay in a private home along Iceland’s scenic South Coast.
The Iceland getaway includes:
- 4 primary bedrooms, 5 bathrooms (sleeps up to 8 guests)
- Modern design with sweeping coastal and mountain views
- A secluded two-acre property near major Icelandic landmarks
Donated by Ring Road Travel, the exclusive raffle is limited to 200 tickets at $100 each. Guests may purchase tickets at the event or preorder by mail. Mail-in donations must be received by January 21, 2026, and winners need not be present to claim their prize. The drawing will take place during the Empty House Party at Baldwin Oaks Estate.
