On Saturday, September 6, 2025, at approximately 6:03 a.m., a resident reported a burglary in progress in the 1600 block of Spruce Street. The caller told police that two men had just left the vacant home and were last seen heading toward Huntington Drive.

Officers arrived within minutes and confirmed a break-in had taken place. One suspect was seen carrying a large bag, while another rode away on a bicycle westbound toward Los Angeles. When an officer tried to follow, the man quickly turned down an alley and disappeared from view.

Thanks to quick coordination between officers, the suspect was found moments later on Huntington Lane and detained. A search of the area led to the discovery of a large tool bag and a spool of wire hidden in a nearby dumpster. The witness who called 9-1-1 positively identified the suspect, who was arrested on the spot.

The suspect was identified as Jose Refugio Juarez, 25, of Los Angeles. He was booked into the Pasadena Jail for PC 459, Burglary. The second man has not yet been located.
