After two long years of not being able to schedule “Operation Cookie” for hospitalized, homeless, and special needs veterans due to the pandemic and COVID-related restrictions, the Woman’s Club is busy planning this year’s event to be held Wednesday May 25th at the Clubhouse at 1424 Fremont Avenue.

“Operation Cookie” delivers decorative containers of cookies to Veterans Hospitals, to homeless Veterans’ Centers, to the Wounded Warriors Battalion at Camp Pendleton, to Military Women in Need, the Jimmy Miller Foundation in Manhattan Beach that provides ocean therapy for disabled veterans, and to other groups serving men and women veterans. Volunteers decorate the boxes with a variety of patriotic and colorful stickers and a special label thanking veterans for their military service.
