Attendees of the 2022 Eclectic Music Festival & Arts Crawl on Saturday, April 30 in South Pasadena will be able to visit a very special Pop-Up store. Called Open Book, the shop will boast an impressive array of vinyl records, posters, tour programs, backstage passes, buttons, CDs and of course, music-related books. The Saturday only store will be located in the center of the Eclectic at 1127 Mission Street, in the South Pasadenan News Headquarters. It will also feature an outside tent containing even more fun merchandise.

Offered for sale will be collectible items to appeal to many generations of music lovers and fans of such favorites as The Beatles, The Beach Boys, The Rolling Stones, Michael Jackson, The Grateful Dead, The Who, and many more. More recent musical groups will also be represented, including The Cars, The Cure, The Go Go’s, R.E.M., and lots of others.

Open Book already has three brick and mortar bookstores located in Canyon Country, Northridge, and Simi Valley. It’s a division of Schwabe Books, a family-owned company, which has been selling a huge variety of books to collectors, libraries, schools, and avid readers for 30 years. Another division of the company is cash4yourbooks.net which buys from private collectors, libraries, estates, museums, schools, and other organizations. It seeks rare books, unusual titles, antiquarian editions, and quality books that are both in-print and out-of-print.

All that is needed to get the process started to receive a quote is the emailing of a photo or two of the collection to steve@cash4yourbooks.net. It will be received by former longtime library director Steve Fjeldsted who can also be reached with any questions at (805) 551-3839. Full payment for any books purchased will be sent within 3 weeks and packing materials can be provided upon request. In addition, onsite packing and loading services are available for larger collections.

An easy way for a non-profit or other organization to raise funds is for them to solicit book collection donations from their members and circle of supporters. Once the donation is finalized, then cash4yourbooks.net can be contacted and they will take care of the rest. In this manner, the recipient organization can quickly receive a check without ever having to touch a book or lift a box.

After taking a break for a couple of years due to COVID-19, the Eclectic Music Festival & Arts Crawl will be coming back in a big way for its 12th go around.

Thousands of visitors from around the Southland are expected to enjoy the free concerts from over 50 musical acts performing live. The event will also offer art galleries, a plethora of food and beverage options, and many craft and vintage items for sale.
