South Pasadena High’s girls’ basketball team, which finished third behind La Cañada and Temple City in Rio Hondo League play, will host Chino Thursday night at 7 p.m. in a first-round CIF contest.
The Tigers finished the regular season with a 13-15 overall mark, 7-3 against league competition and is coming off a lopsided 67-27 victory over Blair last Thursday.
The final league matchup proved to be solid tune-up as the Tigers prepare for Chino, a team that comes to South Pasadena as the third place finisher in the Hacienda League with a 5-5 record behind the top two finishers, Los Altos and Walnut. Overall, the Cowboys were 16-10 on the season.
