Tigers Basketball Wind Down A Strong Season

South Pasadena High School’s boys and girls basketball teams finish regular season this week.

South Pasadena High’s girls’ basketball team, coming off a 59-44 loss to first place La Canada last Friday, hosts Temple City Tuesday night as the regular season ends this week.

The Tigers, 5-3, 11-15 overall, in Rio Hondo League find themselves in a battle for third place and a trip to the CIF playoffs on the line. San Marino is just behind South Pasadena with a 3-5 league mark, 19-9 overall.

Front-runners La Canada, 8-0, and Temple City have locked down the first and second spots, respectively, in league play.

The Tigers play Temple City at 5:30 p.m. followed by the boys’ game at 7:30. South Pasadena’s boys team is 3-5 in league, 11-14 overall and won’t be going to the playoffs this season.

The top three teams in league are unbeaten La Canada, 8-0, Blair, 6-2, and San Marino, 5-3.
