The City is being recognized by District 13 of the California Park and Recreation Society (CPRS) for two awards including the “Going Green Award” and “Community Service Award.” The “Going Green Award” is being given to the City for its efforts to protect environmental resources, strengthen community image, and provide a sense of place with the Demonstration Garden. Youth Commission Chair, Will Hoadley-Brill, is being honored with the “Community Service Award” for his outstanding service developing the first annual Teen Concert in 2017, coordinating monthly Tech Days at the South Pasadena Senior Center, and participating in numerous Community Services events. In addition, Will is the Founder and Team Manager of the Peer Mediators and the President of TASSEL (Teaching and Sharing Skills to Enrich Lives), the organization that has afforded him the opportunity to go to Cambodia for the past three summers to teach. These awards will be presented on March 29, 2018, at the CPRS District 13 Annual Awards Banquet at the Diamond Bar Center in Diamond Bar.
