Speaker on Alzheimer’s Visits the Rotary Club.

Doctor Joyce Shaffer talked about recent research on ways to slow its progression and even reverse it.

Dr. Joyce Shaffer was the guest speaker at the Rotary Club of South Pasadena on January 16 at Oneonta Congregational Church.

Shaffer spoke on brain health and specifically about Alzheimer’s and the most recent research on ways to slow its progression and even reverse it. “Her presentation was very informative and interesting to the membership,” said Rotary Club President Dan Watson, a former police chief for the City of South Pasadena.

The speaker for the January 23 meeting has not been confirmed yet.

Rotary President Dan Watson presented a book to Dr. Shaffer. As is the tradition of the Rotary Club, the book will be donated to the South Pasadena Library in her name.

The South Pasadena Rotary meets every Tuesday at noon, except for the first Tuesday of the month, in the Tower Room at the Oneonta Church. Meetings on the first Tuesday are held at 6 p.m. at the Canoe House. There is no program, it is a social.

Those interested in learning more about Rotary are invited to attend either the lunch meetings or the evening social.
