Senior Center Activities for the Week of November 27- December 1, 2017

The South Pasadena Senior Center, located at 1102 Oxley Street in South Pasadena offers programs and services to enhance the quality of life of senior citizens.  The following will be offered the week of:

November 27- December 1, 2017

Monday, November 27, 10:30 am,  “Holiday Card Making Workshop” led by Joyce Jeffries.  Make festive three-dimension holiday cards.  Cost per person $5, Reservation needed.

Monday, November 27, 2:30 pm, Foreign film showing: Inheritance, Japanese film when two-hundred million yen is up for grabs in a dying businessman’s will. The businessman intends to will it to his 3 illegitimate children, but his associates scheme to take advantage of the situation.

 

Tuesday, November 28, 10:30 “Care for Digestive System” our gut does more than process food, A healthy gut improves resistance to infection, enhances nutrient absorption and may reduce formation of kidney stones.  Keeping your digestive system healthy starts with a well-balanced diet and good choices lecture Presented by Dr. Christine Smith.

 

Wednesday, November 29, 10:30 am,  “Richard Rogers- Lorenz Hart” The Golden Age of MUSIC American Popular Music Series Presenting the songs, Broadway & Hollywood musicals, life times of one of America’s best and most fascinating song writing teams, Presented by Bob Lipson and Saul Jacobs.  Coffee & treats sponsored by California Telephone Access Program.

 

Wednesday, November 29, 1 pm Special Movie: Home for the Holidays (1995).  As we celebrate the holiday season by showing this comedy: After losing her job, making out with her soon-to-be former boss and finding out that her daughter plans to spend Thanksgiving with her boyfriend, Claudia Larson faces spending the holiday with her family. (1 hr 40 minutes)

 

Thursday, November 30, 1:00pm “All Things Apple” Class resumes after thanksgiving holiday break.

 

Friday, December 1, 10:30 “Smart Driver TEK” Discover how to get the most out of vehicle safety technology, understanding how the newest car technology works can make driving safer and more enjoyable.
