Mariela King is the co-chair of this year’s Annual Parent Party Fundraiser at Marengo Elementary. It will be the 5th year of this PTA fundraiser which is designated to cultivate relationships among parents of Marengo Elementary and the community-at-large, while raising funds for key programs no longer covered by the district. Money raised for this event helps fund many of Marengo’s invaluable programs including but not limited to Technology Support, Early Intervention Reading Support, and Cultural Arts Events. 100% of the proceeds go to the Marengo PTA.
This year’s theme is Hot Havana Nights and the party will be held at the private residence of Sean and Lori Hunter on 1300 Milan Ave. in South Pasadena and will take place on Saturday September 23rd.
The fun includes copious amounts of delicious Cuban food provided by Huntington Catering, drinks, desserts, music, dancing, a photo booth and a silent auction full of exciting items like tickets to the Geffen Playhouse, 2 night staycation at a cool downtown hotel, Pilates & Yoga classes, clothing, accessories and so much more!
Says King, “We have all been working very hard collecting donations, auction items, picking out decorations, and promoting the fundraiser. We hope everyone comes to the party to enjoy themselves, meet new parents, & reconnect with the old.” She continues emphatically, “our Marengo students enjoy creating memories and making new friends. Marengo PTA wants all parents to feel welcome and to enjoy these same experiences! Come get to know the Marengo Community and support our children.”
