April 11, 2018, South Pasadena – Does your home feel like its being taken over by toys? A toy swap is a great opportunity to clear out the toy chest and reduce your carbon footprint. As part of South Pasadena’s inaugural Earth Day activities in Eddie Park on April 22, South Pasadena Beautiful will be hosting a Toy Swap in an effort to get kids involved in Earth Day and thinking about ways to live more sustainably.

As children grow, their interests and abilities change. A toy swap is a great opportunity to pass on a toy that is still in great shape instead of sending unwanted plastic to a landfill. If you would like to participate in the Toy Swap, bring a clean, gently used toy and exchange it for a new-to-you toy. All toys, games, puzzles, dress-up clothes – you name it! – so long as they are in good working order and all pieces are intact. Please note parents must accompany their children. Any remaining toys will be donated to a local charity.

In addition to the Toy Swap, there will be other Earth Day Expo exhibitors including SPB’s “Bring one, take one” Plant Swap, City of South Pasadena Environmental Programs, City of South Pasadena Library, Friends of the Nature Park, South Pasadena Community Garden, Athens Services, West Coast Arborists, Tree Lectures, fun family activities, vintage clothing retailers and SPB’s Annual Garden Tour.
