Councilmember Dr. Marina Khubesrian Appointed as County Representative

She Will Serve as City’s Representative to Vector Control District Board of Trustees

In a unanimous 5-0 vote, the South Pasadena City Council appointed Council member Dr. Marina Khubesrian to serve as the city’s representative to the San Gabriel Valley Mosquito and Vector Control District Board of Trustees.

Khubesrian’s two-year term begins January 1.

Attending board meetings, Khubesrian will provide advocacy on behalf of the City Council and ensure that residents are informed about services offered by San Gabriel Valley Mosquito and Vector Control District.

According to its website, the San Gabriel Valley Mosquito and Vector Control District is a public health agency that provides ongoing mosquito and vector control for its residents. The District provides enhanced mosquito and vector control services to 23 cities in the San Gabriel Valley, and some unincorporated portions of Los Angeles County.

District Board of Trustee meetings are held the second Friday of each month starting at 7 a.m. at the San Gabriel Valley Mosquito and Vector Control District, 1145 N. Azusa Canyon Road in West Covina.

Khubesrian’s appointment was unanimously voted by her fellow council members during the Nov. 1 City Council meeting at City Hall.
