The Friends of the South Pasadena Library will hold its annual meeting in the Community Room of the South Pasadena Library, 1115 El Centro Street, South Pasadena on Thursday, January 18, 2018 at 7:00 pm. The meeting will feature a short meeting of all members to elect new Board members and approve the budget will be quickly followed by a performance of classic Big Band tunes by Gary Green Esq. and His Big Band of Barristers.

Gary Greene, Esq. and His Big Band of Barristers perform music from the Golden Era of Big Band Swing. Gary S. Greene organized the band in December 2011 as an adjunct to the 75-member Los Angeles Lawyers Philharmonic and the 100-member chorus, Legal Voices. The musicians cover the entire spectrum of the legal community from law students to judges including the local resident, Joel Osman on bass trombone. Experience ranges from conservatory graduates and professional musicians to those who performed in their youth. These musical groups were established the legal community together and to raise funds for organizations providing legal services for those who cannot afford them, as well as variety of charitable causes. The Barristers have performed concerts of organizations such as the American Diabetes Association, the American Legion, Shriners Hospitals for Children, the City of Hope, the Beverly Hills Bar Association, and for justices of the California Supreme Court in a variety of venues ranging from community events to Disney Hall, Royce Hall and the Library of Congress.

The Friends of The South Pasadena Library are pleased and honored to have Gary Green, Esq., and His Big Band of Barristers perform in support of their mission to provide funds for legal aid to those who cannot afford it, and in support of Friend’s mission in support of the South Pasadena Library.  The performance is free, but seating is limited. Come early and enjoy a great evening of music.
