South Pasadena Police Department officials are investigating a recent attempted armed robbery of a victim riding his scooter on the sidewalk at Meridian Avenue and Bonita Drive.

Police say a man holding a knife demanded money from the 14-year-old victim just before 6 p.m. on Tuesday July 24. Officials say the Hispanic male suspect in his 20’s was wearing a black shirt and blue jeans.

According to authorities, the victim told the suspect he did not possess any money. Police say the suspect patted down the victim before running away southbound on Meridian Avenue. A search of the area failed to turn up the suspect by officers.
