Arty Loon Magic Show at the South Pasadena Public Library

Children of all ages are invited to the “Arty Loon Magic Show” on Wednesday, July 12th at 3:00 p.m. in the Library Community Room, located at 1115 El Centro Street in South Pasadena. In his spectacle of hilarious antics, Magician Arty Loon will take the audience on a wild ride with magic tricks, balloon twisting, puppetry, juggling, comedy, and more. Sponsored by the South Pasadena Public Library, the Friends of the South Pasadena Public Library, and the San Marino Area Chapter – National Charity League, this art opportunity is one of the South Pasadena Public Library’s “Wonderful Wednesdays” programs in the series offered through August 2nd.

Arty Loon has 18 years of experience and hundreds of shows under his hat.  Arty studied in the Magic Castle’s Junior Magicians program, which has produced some of the world’s finest prestidigitators.  He has performed for the world famous Magic Castle and for MTV, Make-A-Wish®, Disney, NBCUniversal, Michael Jackson, STAR Education Programs, Google, Former First Lady Michelle Obama and many more. Arty’s brand of magic and variety entertainment has taken him all over the world.

In addition to the “Wonderful Wednesdays” series, the Library Children’s Services provides many other Summer Reading Program activities for youth, such as incentives for the time participants spend reading, attending storytimes, craft days, and “Family Game Days, a series for tweens on creative writing, and “Lego® Mania.”. The Summer Reading Program is an eight-week, parent-supervised reading program for infants and children through 5th grade. The Teen Reading Program is for 6th – 12th grade students. These programs are designed to encourage youths to read for fun. The theme of the 2017 Summer Reading Program is “Reading by Design.”
