I moved back to South Pasadena a little under a year ago. I grew up here and it’s where I hope to stay…I love our city.

One of the first things I did upon returning to our little town was check and see what new restaurants were around. A lot has changed in ten years and I was excited to see how we’d progressed in a culinary sense as well as others.

One night a few friends suggested Tomato Pie and their pizza is literally the only kind I’ll eat now.

Fresh ingredients, fantastic customer service and one of my all time favorite beers on tap; T-Pie is a place I find myself regularly going to. No matter what kind of crust you like they have it here. They even have veggie choices for people who don’t eat meat. They make a superb Eggplant Parm Sub and their salads are phenomenal. You can even grab a slice of cake if you are so inclined.

I think it’s important in our town to be able to have a family atmosphere at a restaurant and every time I go there are children with their parents laughing and having fun. At 1130 Mission Street it’s an easy location to reach with convenient parking in the back. The delivery time if you want to order in is always fair and the drivers always polite.

I can’t speak higher about the way the shop is run, the management is excellent and always treats customers with respect. In short, I can’t speak highly enough about the food quality and the service. T-Pie is one of my all time favorite places to eat, in fact I think I’ll grab a slice today!

  1. I agree with this review 100%. Unlike the author, though, I’m not a native of South Pasadena, or Southern California at that. I was born and raised in NYC, so I have super particular tastes when it comes to pizza. Tomato Pie was recommended by a friend when our family moved to Pasadena three years ago, and it’s remained our favorite go-to ever since. Not only are the slices very similar to what you can get in NYC (I’ll probably never concede that any non-NYC pizzeria can match what I can find at home), but the atmosphere is great. Our kids love the place, which is amazing considering that there are no gadgets or gimmicks there. They love to see the pizza being made, and the staff is generally very friendly.
