South Pasadena High School hosts 2018 Tiger Invitational with over 2000 participating athletes Friday night - Henk Friezer

Friday night should prove to be a boon for track and field fans as South Pasadena high will play host to over 143 schools from all over the world and the U.S. The occasion will be the 8th annual Tiger Invite which will see teams from all over USA and diverse countries from far corners of the world compete for medals and bragging rights.

Foreign athletes representing New Zealand, Canada and Mexico will supplement others from American schools which include Nevada, Utah, Colorado, Oregon, Washington, Arizona, and all of California.

27 schools from outside of California and 31 from Central and Northern California will vie for prominence in their events. Meet director CB Richards stated the meet will start at 12:30 and run until about 9:30. First race kicks off at 1pm.

Winners in select varsity events will be eligible to complete the following day (Saturday) in the prestigious Arcadia Invitational track meet if they have qualifying marks. Arcadia is renowned as one of the most prestigious prep meets in the world for high school track athletes and it is considered a great honor to be invited.

Known as the gold standard for prep track, Arcadia Invitational invites select athletes contingent on their past performances.
